Tanasacres Nursery Story
Tanasacres Nursery moved to its current location in North Plains Oregon in 2001 after 25 years in the
Tanasaborne area, hence the name. It was started by Art and Teri Iwasaki with son Paul as a grower of
nursery cuttings and winegrape starts for other ornamental nurseries and wineries. Tanasacres Nursery
transitioned to annuals, perennials, groundcovers, vegetables and herbs when the need was recognized
to supply independent nurseries in the Portland area.
Tanasacres Nursery was purchased by Bob Iwasaki and business partner Terry Bean in 1999 and
construction started on 50 acres in 2000.
Tanasacres Nursery now has over 300K square feet of covered growing area as well as 150K square feet
of rented space five miles to the west in Forest Grove.
We grow and ship to independent nurseries and mass merchandisers in Oregon and Washington growing
many of the same crops that were produced at the old location. We have added the Terra Nova line of
perennials to our mix along with organic vegetables and herbs. Tanasacres head grower and
production manager Frank Kilders has a long list of credentials which include a Horticultural degree
from the Universityof Weisbadden, an internship at Molbak’s in Washington, Fisher Geraniums in Costa
Rica, and Ball Floraplant in Mexico. Under Frank’s expertise and guidance we are able to offer our
customers a wide variety of specialty annuals, perennials, vegetables, and hanging baskets of
excellent quality.
We welcome visitors to our growing range located at 32570 N.W. Zion Church Road, Hillsboro, Oregon.
